His most important portraits were probably those of celebrities like the painters Picasso, Dali, Kokoschka or artists such as Peter Ustinov, Sophia Loren, writers such as Nabokov, Fleming and many many more. He gave special attention to each portrayal, in which he sought to capture the spirit and character of the person. This publication is the first of almost five decades of work by Horst Tappe
